Lots of missing contributions

Is it just me, or are alot of other people not getting contributions posted from February 2009 and on.  I average 1-2 Upromise linked online purchases per month and nothing seems to be posting.  I have been a Upromise member since 2002 and have over $1,800 in contributions.  Also, when you send the online inquiry, it is taking longer to research your purchase.  I submitted an online inquiry on May 6th and still have not gotten an answer.  The first email sent stated it can take 7-10 business days.  When you email asking for an update, you get the form email response saying it can take up to 30 business days!

Calling the customer service center in India is useless.  You get the same cookie cutter answers with no real information.   Not to mention the fact it sounds like the call center is in a construction zone.  You can barely hear the voice on the other side.

The latest inquiry is for a HP.com purchase that should be a $24.00 contribution.  Not to mention the fact I am missing an Expedia.com contribution for almost $11.00 for travel COMPLETED in March 2009 and a bestbuy.com purchase.

When these contributions get straightened out, I am closing my account, along with my friends and family.

Re: Lots of missing contributions

Hello. I am glad you asked this.  I'm a new member to UPromise... I just signed up a month ago and haven't seen any contributions show up yet.  I think it's a bit odd since I've done a lot of shopping with participating vendors.  I look forward to seeing other responses!  I hope UPromise is worth it!

Re: Lots of missing contributions

Almost a month and still no resolution.  I faxed a copy of the receipt with the order number.  It takes a month to verify from Hewlett Packard if I really purchased a computer.  FYI - I am using that same HP computer to type this message.

Last week I submitted an inquiry online for an Expedia purchase I made in January and traveled in March. I faxed the receipt shortly thereafter.  Didn't even get an email acknowledging either.

Getting to be really ridiculous!

Re: Lots of missing contributions

I'm not sure why you're having issues. I usually have all of my missing contributions fixed within a week of notifying them....

Re: Lots of missing contributions

The HP purchase should have been about $28.00 as it was a promotional 4% contribution rate.

Re: Lots of missing contributions

You mentioned that you faxed the receipts over for both items - I wonder if that's the issue? I've always emailed receipts (or just given them the order number) and haven't had an issue. Are you sure it's being faxed to the right number / department? Maybe you can scan the receipts and email them?

Did you ever get the automated response that UPromise emails when you send a message stating that they're working on your inquiry? Perhaps their emails to you are getting blocked? If you haven't already, you may want to add "@upromise.com" to your safe / allow list in your email provider's options in case that's the problem.

Hope some of that helps. If not, try sending a message to Jeff, he's pretty good about getting answers. :smileyhappy:

Re: Lots of missing contributions

In 7 years, I have never had a problem faxingf receipts.  I always got the automated response when I submitted the request online.  Something is changing over at UPromise.

Re: Lots of missing contributions

The thing that I don't understand is UPromise prides itself on the "ease" of receiving your contributions/rebates.  Green Arrow They say: "Savings are automatically deposited into your Upromise account." (False advertisement).  If savings are "automatically deposited", I believe that we shouldn't go through any of the hassle of submitting receipts.  I guess when I signed up, I was under the impression that this is an effortless, non-tedious program.  But if we have to keep up with receipts & calculate our rebates, then submit a request, then wait for a response, it's not very "effortless".  Good luck everyone!  I guess I'll have to learn to be content with my 0.03 cents.

Re: Lots of missing contributions

I agree that there is a big problem that we have to track our purchases and contributions so much, but I'm not ready to jump down UPromise's throat. I'm not sure where the problem arises - with UPromise itself (what reason do they have to not give you the contributions - it's the retailers that actually pay them, right?), with how purchases are tracked (maybe different browsers and their settings, operating systems, cookies, whatever could cause a technical problem), or with the retailers that just don't want to pay?

Re: Lots of missing contributions

I'm very sorry to hear of these missing contribution issues.  With thousands of transactions processed daily, unfortunately -- and I realize this will not ease any frustrations -- there are some that don't go as smoothly as the majority.  But please know that when a missing contribution inquiry is received, a team here begins the process of thoroughly investigating the case with the merchant.  However, in order to investigate, a receipt is needed.

Outafter20, I've heard from Customer Care that they are working with HP to look into that purchase.

For all, if you've faxed receipts related to a missing contribution and would like to hear the status, I recommend calling 1-888-434-9111.  One of our associates can provide information on where the investigation stands.  At a minimum, that team can confirm that the faxed information has been received.

Thanks.
