Re: Chasing Down Upromise for Every Reward is Getting Old...

I agree I have had to chase down upromise every day on old e-coupons that did not post as pending, every morning I check my account balances and I wonder why certain contributions take so long to post and alot of the promotions upromise has I have to make sure that upromise tracking device tracks the purchases I make David

I agree. I now expect to fight for every credit.

I'm not trying to be accusatory, but are you guys sure you're doing it right?  There shouldn't be any need to send in inquiries for everything you buy.  My personal experience is that it's probably been 1 out of 10 times that I need to submit something.  Sucks having to do it for that 1 time, but it's far from being every time....

Re: Chasing Down Upromise for Every Reward is Getting Old...

So, what is the "right" way? I just joined and I have made two purchases by clicking the links on upromise.com. I get the screen that says "you will save %1 (or whatever)" when I enter the retailers site. The toolbar glows with a little green savings icon and a yello drop down says I will save whatever amount. I make the purchase and I get credit... When exactly? Or did I make a mistake at some turn? I've read everything on the site about what to do.

Granted, the ease of use advertised did seem too good to be true, so I probably should have not bothered. What about the credit card? I signed up for one of those too. Haven't gotten it yet. But I was planning to do the majority of my spending online and in the brick and mortar world with it. Any horror stories there?

Re: Chasing Down Upromise for Every Reward is Getting Old...

Mack, I see that mrsbandme posted an answer to your questions over here.  For others who are wondering about when contributions should show up in your account, here's our contribution timetable page:  http://www.upromise.com/nspage?su=8201

If you're finding that the contributions aren't showing up within these timeframes, let me know and we'll work with customer care to research.

As for the credit card, it can take up to a few weeks for the approval process.

Thanks,

Jeff

Re: Chasing Down Upromise for Every Reward is Getting Old...

It does sound like you're doing things right, Mack.

A little tip if you're worried about missing contributions: for all of my online purchases, I created a separate folder in my email specifically for receipts.  Every couple of months I'll quickly go through the emails and compare them to my UPromise account - if something has posted as  being paid, that receipt will get moved to my general receipts folder.  If something has posted as pending, but hasn't been paid yet, I'll leave it in the UPromise folder.  If it hasn't posted after 2 months, I'll send in a quick missing contribution form which can be done online: http://www.upromise.com/nspage?su=8200&cmpCode=oln (lower right corner)

Thanks for explaining your tracking system, Ramm. I've been using Post-Its, but I think I like your idea better. I'm going to give that a try.

Re: Chasing Down Upromise for Every Reward is Getting Old...

I'm sorry Upromise hasn't worked for you.  I am very pleased with it!  I have been a member since 2002 I joined when my son was 9. I just paid his first semester at college as a Freshman with $1635.00 of Upromise money his total tuition was about $1800! I never buy anything online I use my Upromise credit card for everything.  i have noticed through the years that the contributions for items at the grocery store seem to be small, so I pretty much depend on getting the 1% for purchases. I could see where this might not be so appealing if you have another credit card and get a higher reward or frequent flier miles etc.I think it is a good program that is trying some new things but is running into some rough spots just hang in there with them.It certainly has helped our family it takes time to accumulate money but it is FREE MONEY!

Upromisequest, let's not blame Upromise for everything. I am currently waiting for Quicken's Jeff to call me back, too bad their Jeff ain't as good as Uprom's Jeff, as I haven't received my $250 credit from Quicken. I closed back in August 2009 and as of today, I am still fighting for my credit. I'll keep you all posted............if, Quicken's Jeff ever calls me back.  When it comes down to it, Upromise can only chase down what the partners are willing to kick back.  If the partner doesn't want to honor the credit...........well, we already have a request in on idea exchange to put a complaints forum together.
