I was wondering if there was a way that I could book Upromise hotels and still get a AAA rate. I haven't seen how I could enter a AAA number on any of the websites, and I'm afraid that the AAA rate is only going to come from the AAA site, forcing me to choose between the rate and the Upromise benefit. Has anyone else encountered this that could answer me for certain?
Thank you.

When I book hotels, I typically look for a Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express, just because I like their hotels. To get both the AAA rate and Upromise savings, I go directly through the Holiday Inn website by linking through Upromise, and then I book right on their site and select the AAA discount option. Then when I get to the hotel, I show my AAA card, and voila! I save money on the room and earn money for my Upromise account. Holiday Inn guarantees their internet rates to be the lowest anywhere online, so I know I'm getting a deal. I'm a Priority Club member (the Holiday Inn family of hotels rewards group), so by sticking with a particular chain, I'm also earning points towards free hotel stays in the future!
If you're trying to use a discount site like hotels.com to book your hotel, you won't be able to get the AAA discount. When I travel, I'll check hotels.com and see what's available in the area, but I usually find Holiday Inn to be the best deal in terms of quality for the price. I'm not one to stay in a fleabag motel just to save a few bucks, though.
