So how DOES it work?

What's the difference between clicking through to a participating site on uPromise.com and ordering stuff online and buying stuff on my linked credit card? Does it matter? If I order something at Target.com and don't use uPromise's link, will uPromise still catch it on my credit card and give me credit, or do I have to click through from the stores & services page? What about stores like Charlotte Russe where it doesn't say .com after it?

I've read on this forum that the turbosaver bar is a bit buggy and some people have to email and fax things to get credit. Will I have this problem if I just use my credit card without clicking through from uPromise?

Re: So how DOES it work?

I tried to use Turbo Saver for about 5mins, I just don't like to install add-ons and other programs on my computer. You'll need to log on to UPromise and use the links they have to the website you are trying to shop at. This maximizes your earnings potential. As an example, assume Target is offering 2% towards college savings and you are going to spend $1,000. Scenario #1 will represent using your UPromise card only, #2 will represent going through UPromise's website, then direct links to merchants and paying with a registered card, #3 is the same as #2 but you use your UPromise card. 1) $1,000 X 1%(you get 1% on your UProm CC no matter what) = $10 2) $1,000 X 2%(Target's link on UProm) = $20 3) $1,000 X 1%, plus $1,000 X 2% = $30 I learned the hard way and missed out on a lot of money.....go with #3.

Re: So how DOES it work?

Thanks for the info. I get better cashback on my current credit card than the savings the uPromise card provides, so it wouldn't be prudent for me to switch. I also use Firefox on Linux, so the TurboSaver thing doesn't work in my browser. Just as well, though, since I've heard it's buggy! I will keep clicking through to sites from uPromise's website. I wish there were more in-store partners.
