BOA Upromise Card-Negative Feedback

Hello everyone:

Just some feedback on the new BOA card.  I received a new card from BOA back in March.  I only received one card and had to call to get another card issued to my wife.  I called on April 1st and was told the card would be sent out in 7-10 days.  No Card yet.  I called last week and was told that a new card is still "in processing".  Very Frustrating!   My wife and I put everything on the card and now we have to share the card-not very convenient when you run to the store and forget that your spouse has the card.

The other issue that I am experiencing is with Quicken and BOA.  With Citi, we could download our transactions on a daily basis and track our spending.  With the BOA card, we have to wait until the "cycle" closes (30 days) before we can download our transactions. It is only after a month that we can then categorize our spending.  For those that do not use quicken this may seem trivial, but for those that do use quicken it took me 90 minutes to go through each transaction and categorize it (especially if you put everything on the card).  Another frustrating issue.

I would think if Citi could have the same connection, BOA should be able to.  Upromise need to make our voice heard and attempt to fix the shortcomings of the card.

Thank you!

Re: BOA Upromise Card-Negative Feedback

I've never needed to download so I can't really comment on that portion of your post, however I have had a BoA cc (World Points) for 6 years and loved it and them.  I love how it immediately shows you a pending purchase and I love how I can dispute a purchase even if it is still pending.  I've never had a problem with them.

I will agree that that it is annoying that they didn't send out a spouse card and we are experiencing the same thing.  I have to use my other cc until the spouse card comes through.

Re: BOA Upromise Card-Negative Feedback

I keep calling and telling them to send me a card.  They never send me statements. Lousy phone service.  The Citi card was fine but I want nothing to do with the Upromise BOA card! Don't get it!! Customer service is not one of the skills they teach their phone support.

Re: BOA Upromise Card-Negative Feedback

I'm also very unhappy with BOA service and have fingers crossed that they sell Upromise on to another bank soon.  In fact, I logged on today to see if Upromise cards were available through any other bank, sadly, no.  Citi was wonderful.  I didn't have any preconceived ideas about BOA but their customer service is awful, and I've had issue after issue with them (this is after many years of no problems with Upromise through Citi bank--I'm not just looking for trouble with my bank!)  Right now I'm in a neverending loop with them over the late charge and finance charges on my bill that was paid through the autopay program on their site--they paid their own bill late and I don't think I should be charged for this.  Their autopay "service" only offers two options, to pay the bill when it first becomes available (so BOA has use of my money for three extra weeks or so before the payment due date), or to pay when the bill is due (which caused me to accrue the late charge and finanace charge.)  I've written several emails explaining this to them and the responses I get back are so off target it's like no one is even reading my emails, and they read so strangely it's like they were translated into English.  It will be tough to give up Upromise (been a member since the first year of this program) but I am not willing to spend this much time and aggravation each month trying to communicate with this bank, it's not worth it.

I have had no problem scheduling payments with BOA.  I do that each time I receive an email that a statement is available.
