This has been an issue with me for severalkyears now. I suggested to U-Promise that when a business drops out ot the program that an e-mail is released informing us of this fact. We receive e-mails from U-promise all the time, but, they will agree to this. I have found out about several companies dropping out after I had been buying the product thinking that the donation to my account would be made.
The response I got when questioning the lack of donations was that I should continually check participants in the program. Not a very consumer friendly response

I do kind of understand why they don't announce it (who wants to announce that they're offering less of something?), although I think they should still make it a little easier to find the info on the site.
However, assuming we're talking online businesses here, you probably wouldn't be missing any contributions because the link should be removed from the site and won't work with TurboSaver and you wouldn't get contributions anyway if you didn't use one of those two methods. If you're talking about a B&M store, that's different....

I agree, Softail, it would be a great idea for Upromise to raise our awareness when partners are dropping out of the program. I'd love to see them include this info in a monthly newsletter under the heading "Comings & Goings," or something like that. It seems like the grocery part of the Upromise program is the least promoted, except for when it comes to the eCoupons, so a little more fanfare would be a welcome change. Not only would it be more "consumer friendly," but it might also encourage more businesses to join or stay with the program if they knew they would be getting the extra attention. Hopefully someone at Upromise will take notice & at least try out the idea.
