Hey mom! Is your house like mine? Here's a sample school morning conversation.
"Do you have your jacket?"
"I don't need one."
"Yes you do, it's cold outside."
"Mom, I'm fine." This statement is always coupled by a major eye roll and a huff.
"Sydnie Emaline, if you don't find a jacket and put it on right now, you will not be playing after school today."
"Fine! But jackets are so uncool."
So, my latest task has been finding a jacket that I think is warm enough, but she finds cool enough. It's not easy. But, below are 5 Upromise partnered stores that I came across that have both cool, and warm, jackets - no pun intended.
Land's End Outerwear - with a great selection for both boys and girls, you can get fleece jackets for early fall chills, as well as Rainwear and 3-in-1 jackets for protection from all the cold weather elements. In addition, Land's End has a variety of hats, gloves, snowpants, boots, and mittens that coordinate perfectly.
Boden USA - just clicking on their baby homepage will make you drool, I promise. You'll want to reach out and squeeze the little cheeks of the cherubs they've got modeling their duds. And the duds aren't bad looking either. From fleece all-in-ones to snowsuits, they'll have your baby covered in their unique styling. And don't forget their logo hat and mittens, which are oh-so-cute.
Target.com - of course! At Target you can knock out the play coat, snow pants, and dress coat, all in one stop. Choose from wool peacoats, extra warm puffer jackets, toggle coats, and a whole host of hats, boots, gloves, scarves, and mittens. Very well priced, you can have your kid snow geared for under $150, easy.
LL Bean - you can't beat their guarantee. Being from Maine, I've got to be honest, LL Bean is really no big whoop to me. I grew up with Bean's, and if I want to shop there, it takes me less than 20 minutes in the car. But, that said, I'm still over the moon when it comes to their guarantee and Bean's is where I buy my own daughter's winter gear, every year. The Bean's promise is simple: "GUARANTEED. You Have Our Word." And boy don't they mean it. Last year, my daughter put a hole in her snow pants doing who knows what; they took them back and gave her a brand new pair, no questions asked.
Old Navy - incredibly affordable kid's outerwear. In fact, this year, they have styles starting at just $29.50 - which is pretty much unheard of. From vests to quilted coats, you can meet any style taste. Plus, I've got to be honest here; one of the best pair of snowboarding pants I own were purchased at Old Navy - no kidding. I got them for a steal and they've held up through 4 seasons now. Truth be told, I'm wishing I had bought a few more pairs.
Want to see more retailers that have great kid's outerwear? Head over to the Upromise Online Shopping page and take a stab at sorting based on what you're looking for. You'll have so many results, you might just spend all day there.
