A Fashionable Father's Day

by on 06-09-2008 05:45 PM

Quick, what’s the first gift that comes to mind when you think “Father’s Day?”  I hope for your sake, and mine, that you didn’t envision a tie.  Dads don’t want ties for Father’s Day! They want something that fits their personality.

Father’s Day is your opportunity to show him that you both embrace his interests and want to make him the most fashionable dad on the block.  Here are my favorite fashionable Father’s Day gifts for dads of every style.

The Outdoorsman: spends his days on the water cruising for the next big catch.

He’ll look good while staying comfortable with a light-weight Tropicwear shirt from LL Bean. With a UPF rating of 40, and an option to wear this as long or mid-sleeve, he’ll be cool, comfortable and protected from the sun while he’s out landing the big one.

What I love about this shirt is its versatility. According to its many fans, it washes well, dries quickly, and requires little ironing; looking good on both a hot and humid day, or under a sport coat.

The Backyardigan: more comfortable in t-shirts and shorts than a button-down.

Land’s End carries a great selection of “Super” t-shirts that are truly top-notch.  They wash well and can handle a day of yard work or an afternoon playing football and grilling ribs.

Virtually stain resistant, these are a must have for any guy that doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty.  And paired with flat-front cargo shorts, he’ll look good enough that your kids won’t be embarrassed when their friends stop by, even if he is covered in rib sauce.

The Golfer: “fore,” is not the number of children he has.

Under Armour has recently joined forces with Upromise, to bring you an amazing 4% back on your purchases.  Hook him up with a UPF 30+ HeatGear® Harris Polo and a snazzy new set of shades; but beware, if he looks this good on the golf course, you’re likely to see a whole lot less of him this summer.

So, there you have it.  Suit the man in your life up with some great gear for Father’s Day.  Besides the ease and convenience of shopping online via the Upromise Mall, you’ll be a multi-tasking momma!  Make dad look good and get a little coin in the bank for college tuition.

Everybody plays, everybody wins.
