Using two services at once

While I predominantly use UPromise for everything, I signed up for another similar service as well. I have the UPromise toolbar and also a "tracking Program" from the other service. When I visit a shopping site where both the UPromise toolbar lights up and also the other service's pop-up appears, do I get double credit from both services for transaction or does one prevail over the other? Thanks!

Re: Using two services at once

I think you're going to need to experiment to find out.  My guess is that it'll depend on the merchant, just like when you use non-Upromise coupons.  Some might let you double-dip, but others may limit you to one type of savings - but no, I dont know which one it'll be.

This isn't related to your question directly, but usually if I can find a non-Upromise coupon that'll save me more than the Upromise percentage, I'll use the coupon and hope I get both.  It hasn't always worked, though.  My point is that, if you find you don't get savings for both programs, you should compare the offers from both and make sure you use the one that benefits you most on a case-by-case basis.

Some merchants actively discourage this practice and will limit special deals to not referred traffic.

Has anyone had any difficulty having more than 1 program's tracking software running on their computers? I'm just wondering if they would cancel each other out or anything like that? Do they cause any "hang" or sluggish response with your browser or system?

Re: Using two services at once

Last year, I had something like this occur. I made all my puchases directly through the websites and later on used the Microsoft Live Search. Since I didn't clear out my cache and all the cookies were still in place, I received a bonus cash back check from Live Search. So, you could try that to get anywhere from 0% up to 8% or more some times.
