SCHOOL SAVINGS

WHILE SEARCHING THE UPROMISE SITE FOR NEW STUFF I RAN ACROSS THE SCHOOL SAVINGS PROGRAM, WHICH I HAVE SEEN MANY TIMES, BUT DID NOT REALLY UNDERSTAND HOW IT WORKED.

APPARENTLY YOU CAN ADD THE SCHOOL YOU CHILD/GRANDCHILD/FRIEND ETC ATTEND AND SAVE FOR THE SCHOOL AS WELL. I AM NOT GIVING UP MY EARNINGS TO THE SCHOOL WHEN I HAVE TWO CHILDREN TO TAKE CARE OF BUT THERE IS A SECTION WHERE YOU CAN JUST BE REMINDED WHEN THERE ARE SCHOOL BONUS OFFERS (EXAMPLE MAGAZINES.COM WAS LISTED AND IF YOU MAKE A PURCHASE YOU GET 25% IN YOUR ACCOUNT AND THE SCHOOL YOU HAVE LISTED WILL GET 25% ALSO). I THOUGHT THAT WAS REALLY GREAT, IF YOU LIKE THE SCHOOL YOU KIDS ATTEND.

UNFORTUNATE FOR ME THE SCHOOL MY SON WILL BE STARTING THIS AUGUST IS NOT LISTED YET.  IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU, JUST SUBMIT AND EMAIL (LINK IS ON THE SIGN UP PAGE) AND UPROMISE WILL TRY TO WORK WITH THE SCHOOL TO HELP THEM GET LISTED.

I FOUND AFTER SIGNING IN AND SELECTING MY ACCOUNT. IT BROUGHT UP A LIST ON THE LEFT SIDE AND IT WAS THERE.

Re: SCHOOL SAVINGS

Is this school savings program still available? I tried to find it for myself, but I haven't had any luck. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place? I did look in my account links, but I don't see any reference to the schools there either. I hope the program is still around because it sounds pretty interesting.

Re: SCHOOL SAVINGS

Heather from Upromise here. No, the Upromise Schools Program ended last summer. Although this program is no longer available, you can still encourage families at your school to join our 11 million members in saving money for their children’s college education using Upromise.

Thanks, Heather
