I need suggestions!

So I just transferred to another college and need to cover the rest of the bill which is around 18,000. I just found out someone stole my identity so i can't take a loan out anywhere! I applied for 1 and got denied and another one is under 'review' because i applied with a cosigner who has good credit. Do you think I will get the loan? Whoever got a hold of my identity really messed it up. I start school Sept. 9th... Does anyone have any suggestions on where i can turn to and fast? Thanks for your help!

Re: I need suggestions!

I hope you were able to secure a loan for school.  Did you try with FAFSA for some government loans?  Also, if you tried to repair your credit/identity, you may be better off bringing your credit report and the letter to the credit agencies with you as you walk in to 'brick and mortar' banks.  Having the paperwork to prove that you are a victim in resolution with the agencies and some times explaining the situation to a lender, face to face, makes a difference.  You could try the online approach as well with companies like Discover.  There are credit unions in your area as well, look them up and see what they can do.  Good luck!

You could also try to spread it out over several institutions, borrow lesser amounts like $6,000 each from three lenders to get you back to the $18,000.
