Re: Upromise changing from Citibank to Bank of America

Just as a final follow-up, today I managed to speak to Upromise customer service, BoA customer service (as well as online chat help) and Citicard customer service. If like me, you made a snail mail Citicard Upromise payment after their online payment access closed off, that's fine. If you didn't, you'll see your prior Citi balance carried over to your existing BoA balance, and payments can be made to BoA going forward.

Another thing is BoA, like Citi, offers Photo Security (the option to put your photo on your credit card). If you have a local BoA branch, you can call or visit to find out whether they have a photo station there to take of it. If not, you can use this mail-in form: http://www.bankofamerica.com/creditcards/pdf/Photo_Security_BW_r2.pdf

Re: Upromise changing from Citibank to Bank of America

I see that some of us used Quicken or other financial software with the Citibank card, well guess what I just found out? The mailer I received with my new BoA card said you could go online as of 3/31 for online access, which I did yesterday. I wasn't having any luck downloading transactions, so I called customer service. They told me that if you are not a BoA checking or savings account customer with BoA, you can't get daily transactions downloads (WebConnect on Quicken). All you can get is transactions once your statement has posted to the website. I am livid. I use this card for most of my day to day spending, and I want to know where I am on the month with regards to my budget. Where can I complain, because UPromise is not providing a new provider with the same level of service as the old one?

With my other BoA card, Microsoft Money will automatically download my transactions...

I think I initially had a problem setting it up, but it works now....

You will have to contact BOA to get that answer. I suppose they may be able to answer you now..that is if they updated their customer service. Good luck

Re: Upromise changing from Citibank to Bank of America

I to am disappointed that Upromise went with BOA.  I created a trouble ticket with BOA for problems connecting my Quicken to transaction downloading.  The BOA aswer is that daily downloading into Quicken is not available UNLESS you open a checking or savings account AND pay $9.95/month.  BOA is an aweful financial instution that only values it's customers when the BOA hand is reaching into their pockets.

I hope the good folks at Upromise dump BOA and got with a bank that focuses on its customers through action, not words.

If BOA doesn't begin to offer daily downloading of credit card transactions, I'm dumping my Upromise BOA card and going with someone else.  The hassle and fees are not worth it.  I encourage everyone to do the same.

I would also encourage you NOT to go with paperless billing.  That feature saves BOA money every month.  If they want $9.95/month from me so I can acces MY information, I'm going to do all that I can NOT to save BOA any money.

Re: Upromise changing from Citibank to Bank of America

I was using the Upromise credit card for everything but now I won't be using it at all. I plan to use a different credit card from a much friendlier bank that gives me 1% cash back on all purchases instead.

I would rather work with a different credit card company and lose out on the money I was putting towards my student loans than use Bank of America's credit card. Unfortunately, I will have to keep the BOA account open because closing it would effect my credit score. This next payment will be my last.

I wonder how many other members have taken the same position as you have. I BOA account and probably won't get one. Everything other members say confirms my own views although i was taking a wait and see position. I would like to hear from someone who has some positive experiences, although I sometimes find it difficult to find this thread sine the new layout of the site. Things were much easier and nicer before the change.I find it moe difficult to connect with members now.

You can change the forum layout back to what it was a couple of months ago in the "My Profile" link near the top of the page.

Personally, I haven't ever had a problem with BoA other than having to call recently in regards to the UPromise stuff, but I don't know if some of the issues with the bank switching had anything to do with BoA.

Re: Upromise changing from Citibank to Bank of America

Hi Wada279.  I'm glad you mentioned that about the new layout.  My goal is to make it as easy as possible for you to connect with others.  So I'm sorry that's not the case, but I'm all ears.

Can you tell me how you'd like to see the Community changed?  I'll admit I have much to do to better organize the discussion threads and topics and I'll be doing that on a daily basis.  For instance, with all of the credit card talk that's been going back and forth, it probably deserves a discussion board of it's own...or at least a thread that's dedicated to the topic.

But please let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions.  Better yet, if you're up for it, please post in the new Idea Exchange forum.

Thanks,

Jeff

Re: Upromise changing from Citibank to Bank of America

Jeff I am sorry but I don't have a lot of computer savy. I just know I didn't have a problem before the change in the format of finding and following discussions. If it wasn't for the fact that i am notified when messages are posted  about the change from Citibank to BOA i would't know how to find the thread. if i was log on for the first time.
