Re: Upromise changing from Citibank to Bank of America

I'm a bit confused at this point because I've been waiting for my new BofA card (regardless of whether I like BofA) and I just got a new Citi card in the mail yesterday that still has the UPromise logo on it. So what do I do now??

Re: Upromise changing from Citibank to Bank of America

This is confusing. I think I would wait until the BOA credit card comes. Its suppose to arrive for use by march 28 or 29. I wouldn't confirm the Citi card unless you decide you want one from Citibank. At best you could contact citi to find out the details of the card but I don't know how you do that without confirming you accept the card. can you get by without using a card until you make a decision?

Re: Upromise changing from Citibank to Bank of America

Yep, I think I'll wait until the BofA card comes. It just seemed misleading to have the upromise logo on the new citi card. I'll just use the current citi card until it either expires or I get the bofA card.

I don't know if you use the online part of citi to look at your purchases etc, but at the top it now says that the online access will be cut off on 3/25 - so download all your transactions and what not or you'll never see them again!

Re: Upromise changing from Citibank to Bank of America

Thanks for the info but I now have the Citi Rewards card so my access will not expire. I use the upromise site and the Citi bonus center. I will see how things go or see if the amount I accumulate a year about $300 changes. I just do not want BOA card. I have had it with them..

Re: Upromise changing from Citibank to Bank of America

I didn't have a Upromise CitiBank card......so I haven't heard much about this switch.  I do currently have a BoA credit card.  Does anyone know if current BoA customers will be able to associate their card with Upromise or if it is a whole new card?

Thanks

I had called BoA in January to ask and the lady I spoke to wasn't sure and she said she wouldn't know until the card came out. I'm hoping it will.

Re: Upromise changing from Citibank to Bank of America

Not happy with this switch so far.  I had an online payment scheduled for March 26 with Citibank (my due date is March 31 so I figured this was plenty of time).  For some reason the payment didn't go through.  I called them and they confirmed that it did not go through and that online and phone payment is no longer available for my account.  They told me my payment would have to go through BoA.  So, then I called BoA.  I told the lady that I had a question about the switch and she told me she couldn't answer any upromise account questions until the 29th.  I told her it wasn't account specific and she told me I need to take this argument elsewhere and hung up on me.

Re: Upromise changing from Citibank to Bank of America

I have a similar situation. I tried to schedule an online payment for my Citi Upromise card the evening of the 25th, and it looked to go through, but apparently hasn't. I can't imagine why they'd be telling you to now pay your existing Citicard balance through Bank of America though. That's not correct. I've always paid off my balance online, but luckily, I still get paper bills in the mail, so I'll be paying off my final Citicard Upromise balance the old fashioned way: with a check. Though, in this confusing switchover, I'm sure a lot of people are going to get whacked with late charges, especially if they're being told by Citi's customer service to wait and pay through Bank of America.

Re: Upromise changing from Citibank to Bank of America

Its possible that the Agreement was for BOA to assume all existing debt balances. But the suggestion of paying by snail mail. sounds like a good one or go directly to a citibank branch office before the takeover. Whatever you do keep a copy of your payment. I am not surprised at the unbusiness manner of BOA. A bank that treats customers in that fashion will not get my business. I stopped using the Citi upromise card in jan to make sure there was no mix up and now I am using Citibank Rwards card. I can still use the upromise on line buying.

I did a survey for Upromise on my satisfaction which I gave a & out of 10 and whether I would recommend  upromise to anyone else. I love upromise but I would not recommend BOA,....I am still sitting this one out.

Re: Upromise changing from Citibank to Bank of America

Looks like you were right, Wada279. I see that Bank of America is still showing the leftover Citicard balances on my Upromise card accounts. Unfortunately, I already mailed out my checks to Citicard with my paper statement stubs. So now what happens? I'm not that keen on paying off my cards twice to two different banks, though I'm sure both would appreciate any extra funds they can get their hands on.
