Re: Upromise changing from Citibank to Bank of America

As an update to the Citi all reward card, their billing cycle is more like BOA's. No longer do you have the same due date every month but a date based on a 29 day cycle and I am not sure if the count starts from when you charge or every 29 days. I started out with a due date of the 7th of the month now my last bill is due the 27th of th previous month. In fact i will be paying twice this month. I will stick with this card however.

Re: Upromise changing from Citibank to Bank of America

I just wanted to note that I, too, am really upset about the change from Citi to BofA.  I had nothing but trouble out of BofA for years and promised I would never deal with them again.  Then Upromise (of which I have been a member for 5 years) changed their credit card to BofA, and I decided I would give them one more chance.  I love Upromise, and in the current economy, the Upromise rewards program and Master Card are the ONLY way I have been able to set anything aside for my children's education.

Then I found out I couldn't download my daily Upromise MC transactions into Quicken (as I have been doing for years), because I didn't have a bank account with BofA, and I am NOT willing to spend $10 a month for the "privilege".  I have called Upromise and have tried to contact BofA with my concerns.  The only response has been, "we will pass along your complaint".  I have since gotten a Citi All Rewards 1% cash back MasterCard, and as soon as it arrives in the mail, I will be using this card for all of my purchases (as I had been doing with my Upromise card before the change) unless and until Upromise convinces Bank of America to change this policy.  I encourage others who are bothered by this to do the same -- or at least voice their complaints with both Upromise and Bank of America.  Thanks.

Re: Upromise changing from Citibank to Bank of America

So far I am sa.tisfied with my choice of Citi all rewards card. I have received a chack for $61 and there is $43 pending

also I have $98 deposited from Upromise. My only concern is that I have to be deligent  about depositing the money in the college fund.

When Upromise advertises its card they don't even say it is from BOA. so I am sure they are getting the message that customers are dissatisfied with BOA. They are offering a bonus of $25 to new customers, so the goodwill that citi had may be decreasing under BOA.

Re: Upromise changing from Citibank to Bank of America - CARD CANCELED

I canceled my Bank of America Upromise card today.  The customer service rep was very surprised and asked why.  I told him Bank of America has been nothing but a problem to deal with since the good people at Upromise made the horrendous mistake of switching to them from Citibank.  I also think it's unreasonable that Bank of America wants to charge me $10/month to download  my transactions into Quicken on a daily basis.  In encourage all to cancel the Bank of America Upromise credit card.  If enough customers do it, I'm sure Upromise will switch to a credit card company that is customer focused based on action, not empty words.

Unfortunately, a lot of banks are now charging that, not just BoA - I just went from WaMu to Chase in their takeover and Chase charges, too.

I cancelled my Bank of America card, too!

I am totally disgusted with Bank of America.  Their customer service is pitiful and I got such a nasty attitude from one of their phone reps that I told her to cancel my card right then and there.  She didn't even try to get me to stay.  Now one of the supervisors left me a message.  Too bad.  Too little too late.  I emailed Upromise to let them know what I thought of Bank of America, and got the standard response that they had selected Bank of America after much thought and consideration, blah blah blah.

I hate giving up the automatic payments to my Upromise account, but Bank of America does NOT deserve my business.   I never had a problem with my Citicard.

Re: I cancelled my Bank of America card, too!

This is sad. Currently I use the Citibank all rewards card. I am very satisfied with the customer service and whenever I earn $50.00 a check is sent to me. The only problem I have to remember to deposit the amount after cashing the check into the college fund. I don't always do that or I take a while before making the deposit. I don't think there are any resaurant or gas money back . But peace of mind is more important to me. So good luch with your saving, but it is becoming more difficult to stick with Upromise. I wonder how many people have defected since the switch to BOA,

That's what I just don't understand.  Citi was a great credit card provider.  Why on earth did Upromise switch to BOA?  I wish someone at Upromise would provide a real answer, not the standard company line of "after much thought" blah, blah, blah.:smileysad:

Re: I cancelled my Bank of America card, too!

My guess is cost of revenue and credit exposure.  The cash cost of contributing to UPromise hurts their bottom line.  Citibank has also been a risky lender and they need to cut their losses now.

Surprisingly, I haven't had any issues with BoA CCs, everything else BoA offers, lots of problems, but not my credit cards.

Side note, I use BoA and JP Morgan for checking and CC only.  Recently moved all my savings and opened a new checking with Citi online ECA, oh yeah free checking, great online rates, no bank charges on almost everything I do.....Citi customer service is back!  See what happens when you almost collapse?  BoA better figure that out soon!
