BANK OF AMERICA CREDIT CARD SAVINGS QUESTION

I WAS RECENTLY LOOKING AT MY PENDING TRANSACTIONS AND NOTICED CREDIT CARD DINING AND GROCERY LISTED. I THOUGHT GAS WAS PART OF THIS TOO. I HAD THE CITI WORLD CARD AND THOUGHT ME MADE 2% ON GAS, 10% DINING, 10% QUALIFIED GROCERY ITEMS AND 1% EVERYWHERE WITHOUT ANY CAP ON AMOUNTS.

I DECIDED TO RESEARCH THE NEW CREDIT CARD WE WERE CHANGED TO AND FOUND THIS:

Upromise Credit Card with Gas & Grocery Rewards

 AND THEN THIS

Upromise Credit Card with Dining & Grocery Rewards

AS IF THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT PROGRAMS FOR THE NEW CREDIT CARD.

I ALSO FOUND THIS FOR ALL OF US WITH THE CARDS:

Earn a $25 college savings bonus after you use your new Upromise credit card to make your first purchase, balance transfer, or cash advance transaction within 90 days of opening your account. If you make an eligible purchase transaction, you will also receive your regular 1% college savings earnings. Your one-time $25 college savings earnings will be reported as pending on your Upromise account by the 30th (thirtieth) day of the calendar month following the credit card statement containing the initial transaction and should be posted to your account within 90 days of the pending contribution provided you are a member within 90 days of opening your new account. You must apply for the card on or after March 29, 2009, to be eligible for this bonus. This is a limited time offer and may be cancelled at any time without notice.

DOES THIS APPLY TO ALL OF US SWITCHED OVER, UPROMISE APPLIED FOR US?

HELP, DOES ANYONE UNDERSTAND ALL THIS.

Re: BANK OF AMERICA CREDIT CARD SAVINGS QUESTION

I can't help you with your questions, but my question is kind of similar. I just signed up for the card (I wasn't a transfer from Citi) and I just got my first statement. On it, it lists my total 1% earnings, my $25 sign up bonus, and then the total earnings for this statement. I have the gas program card, so I should be earning 2% on gas. Anyone else with the gas card having the same issue?

Re: BANK OF AMERICA CREDIT CARD SAVINGS QUESTION

Got a reply back from customer service - the 2% will show up within 60 days, like any other contributing company. I figured that it was more directly linked to the credit card than that, but that's ok. :smileyhappy:

Re: BANK OF AMERICA CREDIT CARD SAVINGS QUESTION

It appears that we "old timers" who were switched over do not get the &25.00 bonus. I got a very nice email from Upromise reminding me to use my new BOA card to get my "$00.00" bonus.

Re: BANK OF AMERICA CREDIT CARD SAVINGS QUESTION

That is a bunch of crap, I too have had the card for years (about 5) and when I read that I wondered if they were going to give it to us. I guess we should have cancelled the card and reapplied, not like they were going to turn us down.

I just received the 1% for purchases from Bank of Amer for april and now I see they posted May, but I dont see the extra savings, like our Citi one did. Has this extra shown up on yours yet and which card do you have? Dining/Grocery or Gas/Grocery - apparently there is a difference.

But all the cards are world cards I believe. I cant understand all the junk they write. If you have any further info that may help me please advise.

Re: BANK OF AMERICA CREDIT CARD SAVINGS QUESTION

That's something that most companies will do - entice people that have not already signed up for their service / goods by giving new members a sign-up bonus. I bet your cable company and phone company both offer some type of "Triple Play" service - something like tv / phone / internet for $100/month. But, that only lasts a year and is only good for new sign-ups (although my company, Cablevision, has finally extended it to existing members as long as they didn't already have all three services).

When I looked in my pending account, I did see my gas purchases since I got and registered my card. There are four transactions and right now, they're each listed as pending, but only for 1%. I emailed customer support and was, again *roll eyes*, told to wait the 60 days (basically copied and pasted their previous reply to me). If it's pending wrong, I would think it's also going to post wrong. Customer support can be a real pain to deal with sometimes.
