Wholesale Chains, ie: BJ's. Sams Club

It would be nice to get the same savings we currently get under the grocery section on Upromise at wholesale retailers.

This would be huge!  Many of the products sold at BJ's and Sams are already Upromise participating companies. Both BJ's and Sam's require member ID cards so there's a way to register the users and products they purchase.  What are the issues, if there are any?:smileysad:

Wholesale companies cut prices by going bulk and passing the savings on to us. The contributions would cut in to their profits and they would in return pass the extra expense back to us. Unfortunately, today's markets are driven on news and how much the company earned per share. Shareholders don't care about "good deeds" they only care about the bottom line and contributions to UPromise hurt the bottom line.

If that were true, no company would participate in Upromise and that's just not the case.  Some companies choose to invest in and support advanced education opportunities.  Perhaps it's just that Upromise hasn't approached the wholesale chains.  You never know what can happen if you don't try.  :smileyhappy:

LOL, look at Amazon, they don't contribute and they had a 62% increase to their bottom line.  I agree though, let's try.....Kudos to the companies that do contribute, I know my shopping habits have changed to the participating companies to UPromise.  Too bad, I shop at BJ's alot.

Re: Wholesale Chains, ie: BJ's. Sams Club

You hit the nail on the head!  I too patronize the companies that participate in Upromise because I believe they're better companies with whom to do business.  If you support my children's academic opportunities, I will support your business, even if it costs a little more.  I think too often people today focus on the bottom line at all costs and forget that you get what you pay for.  I'm pretty frugal, and I shop around to compare prices, but I always purchase with the philosophy that I want the most value for my dollar.  You buy cheap, you get cheap.  You buy value, you get value.  Value isn't always the cheapest, but it's usually the best return on investment.  It kind of works with the phrase penny wise and dollar foolish.

The more people that participate in Upromise, the more companies will want the business from that large community so keep encouraging your friends and family to join, participate, and patronize the businesses the support you.  That's the magic of Upromise.  You'd think I worked for the company????  :smileyvery-happy:

Hahahahahaa, that's funny my friends say the same thing, they are getting tired of me sending reminders to join and use Upromise.  I don't care, I'll keep spamming them.

I have one friend, she started her own line of kid's clothing, mommy bags, etc.  I told her to consider looking in to joining UPromise as a contributing company.  I'll be supporting her if she comes online so look out community, more spam is coming.

CKFamily, from one frugal shopper saving for kids to another, that's a great post.  Nice to have you with us and great that you're encouraging others to join Upromise.

By the way, I feel the same way about buying value.  And I'll keep you in mind if a good job match here comes up!!!

Thanks,
Jeff
