Second, always check the seller's rating to make sure you're dealing with someone who's going to follow through. And third, always look for the best retail deal you can find on the item. Try to beat that price.

Bargains to scout for on eBay:

• Strollers and other baby gear. Try to beat the best retail price by 20%, including shipping.
• "Lots" of children's' clothing. Buy a whole season's wardrobe in one shot! Bidding can be fierce.
• Specialty infant formula. Make sure it's unopened and not expired. Expect heavy bidding.

I would, however, recommend using craigslist, freecycle, and yard sales for big items like strollers and cribs. You can get a much better deal than on eBay. Baby clothes are perfect for eBay. We average about $1 per item including total cost of shipping. Waaay cheaper than stores and even most yardsales.
