Complaint Central / Bad Experiences

by on 10-24-2009 06:41 AM

I think there should be a forum where members can get together and share their horror stories, bad experiences, resolutions, etc.  The forum makes it easier for everyone to either help or use the info as buyer beware and the participating companies can even check in from time to time to see who is on blast!  Give all sides a chance to make it right or at least talk about it all in one place.

I'd like to see this... it'd be nicer seeing everyone's anti-BoA threads in one place instead of in every single forum. *rolls eyes* :smileytongue:

I don't think that could happen though... it could drive business away from that company (whether rightfully or not) and UPromise isn't going to want that.

The message boards are overtly designed for "cheer-leading" purposes, it seems. It really would be nice to see a whole new section where Upromise could balance the positive feedback, while recognizing that there are problems out there, too. Maybe they could call it "Rants and Raves" and beneath that allow for subtopics like "Complaint Corner" or "Vent Zone" on the complaint side and "Brag Box" or "Happy Endings" on the other. Perhaps the complaint section could include further subtopics, such as "Missing Contributions" or "Inquiry Form Problems," etc. Designating a specific place in the community for negative feedback would provide Upromise with a valuable opportunity to monitor for new issues and common problems as the are emerging. I think having a specific place to share our grievances would also strengthen the community, possibly even spurring new interest and activity.

I would like to assume that the participating companies would like a chance to defend themselves as well.  Construct the forum to show postings with the mechants name/logo and the status of the issue, ie: resolved, pending, etc.  Include a link of some sort for merchants to check on negative postings.  Maybe even a rating method for members of the community to flag a posting as important or petty (since some just like to complain no matter what).

Come on UProm - hook us up with this one!

luntaos, mrsbandme and rammsteinNicCag, I just want you to know that I plan to revamp the list of available forums in the near future and will definitely consider something like this.

Although we love to hear of your positive experiences, we also "listen" closely and learn from your dislikes.

Thanks for the idea.  Keep 'em coming!
