Re: Fastest Way to $25, $50, $100...

How did you do change your American Express points to upromise $$?  I'm a newbie and still figuring this all out.

I saw your note about your mom having the upromise master card -- is that the new card that just came out a month ago or are you talking about something else?

Re: Fastest Way to $25, $50, $100...

I bought a car through upromise and got $50 put into my upromise account, which I sent to a 529 I opened with Fidelity Investments in California.  It requires only $15/mo. and has no opening or maintenance fees.  The current rate of return is about 8%

Re: No Subject

Mel,  The only way to get credit for shopping on a military base is by getting the credit card offered through UPromise.  I contacted the Defense Commissary and was told they can't give us credit on the grocery end of the program.

Cpremmana,

I guess I wasn't so clear.  If you get the UPromise Bank of America credit card and use it at the base, then you'd get the 1% return on everything you'd spend on base.

thank you.  I thought you can convert your amex points to upromise $$.  Not a bad idea though....I will check into it anyway.

Open a 529 with Fidelity, as little as $15 monthly and then from your login at http://Fidelity.com apply for the American Express cc and it will link automatically, make sure you check the 529 box when applying to link it with your Amex.

Re: Fastest Way to $25, $50, $100...

Hello all, newbie here. I just finished registering all of my cards and I have questions about the UPROMISE card, especially would like to hear from those who have had previous credit problems.

I have been a BOA bank customer since 4/2008, a BOA CC since 5/2008 and had refinanced my mortgage with them since 02/2009. I highly doubt BOA will give me a second credit card as I already have a lot of charge accounts that I acquired in 2008 to rebuild my credit and I had previous baddies on my credit report (one major one is due to fall off at the end of the month, and I made sure through the dispute process that it does fall off as it will be 7 years). In any event, I have a BOA WorldPoints Card. Do you think BOA can/will switch to the UPROMISE card if I call up and ask? I have 14000 reward points that I've amassed since February and I only use my CC to buy what I need and pay-in-full every month. I'm guessing I would lose the reward points if I do that, right?

Otherwise, I guess I will just fill up my tank twice with Exxon every month and get my 7-10 bucks yearly. I do some decent online shopping so I guess I will do that too. Plus once my Discover card comes, I'll earn rewards twice, I guess. Any help will be appreciated and sorry for long post. :smileyhappy:
