What I have been doing as a college student was I bought my latop through the highest paying percent merchant I cant think of it right now. And then i emailed all my professors about our textbooks, and bought them from barnes and noble so I still made a little bit of money from them. Any extra expenses that I dont need right away i get from the online stores through Upromise and like snacks i get from the local grocery store that I signed up through here.

On my account, transfers happen on a monthly basis.
So, if yours works the same way, you should see
the transfer show up in 30-45 days.

Fastest way is to use you card on everything you purchase and then pay it off 100% at the end of each month. If you cant afford to pay off the card 100% each month then your savings are no longer savings. Dont purchase goods because the carry the upromise label. Places like exxon are typically higher prices than your other local gas stations. Open a 5-2-9 and invest in it monthly as much as you can and let the Upromise card suppliment your savings. Also dont wait. the power of compounding is in your favor. If you are expecting a child, open an acct as soon as you have a SSN for the child.

"Places like exxon are typically higher prices than your other local gas stations."

In my area, Exxon is very competitive - without the Upromise benefits. Using the Citi card usually gives Exxon a clear advantage for me. When it doesn't, I buy elsewhere.

I do agree that purchasing a product just because it carries the Upromise label isn't necessarily the best option, but generalizations about one company's prices aren't helpful to the discussion - there are too many factors that affect pricing to make such a pronouncement. The bottom line is members need to understand how the program works and how their spending will result in a net maximum savings for their situation.

I agree that location has a lot to do with how "reasonable" gas prices seem. A "GetGo" (Giant Eagle's gas station) recently opened near two of the Exxon's in my area. This has suddenly made those Exxon stations much more competitive with their prices. They are now usually within 2 cents on fuel prices. When I don't have "fuel perks" to use; those Exxon's prices are the next best choice.
Other area Exxon's - like the ones near the turnpike are usually higher priced.

Just log in and go to the upper left corner where it says "earn" then from the drop down menu select "all partner companies" just follow alphabetically to "Sprint" and click on it to see the offer.\
