Add restaurants

Ok, so there are two restaurants in my city and I rarely eat at either. How do you suggest others? I'm very near the university and there are no participating restaurants nearby.

I've called 1-877-491-3463 to recomend a restaurant you would like to see work with upromise. It also helps to recommend Upromise to the restaurant owner as a way to get more customers/exposure.

Contact rewards network they are the people who recruit restaurants for the upromise program. if you reccomend restaurants you would like to see on the program then they may be able to send someone to sign the restaurants up. info@rewardsnetwork.com

Thanks for the advice.

I contacted the rewards network by telephone, but they didn't seem to want to be bothered by it. They told me to go contact the restaurant myself and then have the restaurant contact them to be a part of the network.

Although I hated doing it, I printed out the contact number and the upromise web url and went to speak to the owners of my favorite local restaurant. No one I knew was working so the wait staff played "gatekeeper" and wouldn't let me talk to the owners. I felt like a bad salesman. I don't want to be part of their sales force. So far, the eating out section is NOT so hot. ...sigh...

I'm sorry to hear that, I've called in a few times and they have always been very pleasant. I usually ask the owner if they check on my table if they have considered being a part of upromise. I'm sure in some cases the staff can be less than helpful

Great news, gmichaeld and all. On Thursday, 7/3, we’ll be adding a new partner to the program…Restaurant.com. You’ll be able to purchase discounted gift certificates (for example, purchase a $25 certificate for $10) from thousands of participating restaurants AND you’ll get a 15% contribution to your Upromise account on the purchase of those certificates.

Look for more details in the Community News section on Thursday.

That is great news. I also noticed several new restaurants in and around my area 33470 and 33409. I check about once a week to see if anything new is out there. I do have a question though. The $1 survey reward program that just ended, can you tell me what the dates were that ran through and how long it takes for it to show up as pending?

I'm glad to hear you're finding more restaurants in your area. As for your question, Preferred Diners who completed a survey for a qualified dine between 4/15/08 and 6/30/08 receive $1.00 (surveys should be completed w/in 60 days of dine). It could take up to 30 days after the completion of the survey for the reward to post as pending.

I hope that helps.

What is a qualified dine? I used my upromise credit card to purchase the dinner but the actual dinner has not shown up yet and it was before 6/30. I have to wait for it to show before I can evaluate it. I will still get the credit, correct?
