Upromise Credit Card - 10% Bonus Question

I've been reading about the Upromise Credit Card and the 10% bonus rewards on Dining. Is the bonus on the total amount of the check or on the present bonus?

IE:

 $100 Check, 4% bonus, 10% bonus of bonus = 4.4% = $4.40

 or

$100 Check, 4% bonus, 10% of total bill = 14% = $14.00

Also, if I pay a $20 tip and 8% tax, is my eligible bill $128 or $100?

Thanks for your time,

Andrew

Re: Upromise Credit Card - 10% Bonus Question

[ Edited ]

APPARENTLY THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT CARDS, IF YOU HAVE THE GROCERY AND DINING CARD AND IT IS A UPROMISE RESTAURANT YOU GET YOUR REGULAR SAVINGS (WHICH YOU LISTED AS 4%) AND FOR USING THE UPROMISE CREDIT CARD YOU GET 10% ALSO. THIS INCLUDES THE TIP, I DONT BELIEVE THEY INCLUDE THE TAX. ON $120 YOU WOULD GET 4%+ 10% = 14% = $16.80 SAVINGS. DONT FORGET TO ADD YOUR 1% FOR USING THE CARD, ANYWHERE YOU USE THE CARD. I THINK YOU GET THIS TOO.

I BELIEVE IN JUNE THEY ARE DOING DOUBLE EARNINGS AGAIN. WHEN THAT HAPPENS IT IS WISE TO GET A BUNCH OF GIFT CERTIFICATES, EITHER TO GIVE FOR GIFTS OR FOR YOURSELF TO USE LATER. THE DOUBLE SAVINGS WOULD BE ON THE UPROMISE ABOUT NOT THE CREDIT CARD AMOUNT. SO IF THE RESTAURANT GAVE 4% ON A PARTICULAR DAY AND YOU WALKED IN AND ATE THERE OR PURCHASED A GIFT CERTIFICATE YOU WOULD THEN EARN 8% + 10% FOR USING YOUR CARD. TOTAL OF 18%. INSTEAD OF 14%.

THIS BONUS PERCENTAGE WILL SHOW UP ABOUT 45 DAYS AFTER YOUR REGULAR SAVINGS POST.

I BOUGHT GIFT CARDS IN ADVANCE FOR SPECIAL EVENTS AND SPECIAL PEOPLE IN MY LIFE THAT I PLANNED ON BUYING ANYWAY WHEN THE EVENT WAS CLOSER BUT I COULD NOT PASS UP THAT DEAL.

MAKE SURE TO BE AWARE WHEN THEY DO THIS TO SEE IF THERE IS A MINIMUM YOU MUST SPEND. IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY, $25 HAD TO BE SPENT TO GET THE SAVINGS. I HAD A PROBLEM WITH ONE TRANSACTION SINCE I DID NOT READ THE FINE PRINT. I PURCHASED A $100 GC AT LUTINA'S PIZZA AND ALSO BOUGHT A PIZZA, THE EMPLOYEE HAD TO DO TWO SEPARATE TRANSACTIONS AND THE ONE FOR $100 I RECEIVED THE EXTRA SAVINGS BUT THE PIZZA ORDER DID NOT TOTAL $25 AND I ONLY RECEIVED THE REGULAR SAVINGS.

I HOPE THIS HELPS.

Re: Upromise Credit Card - 10% Bonus Question

The 10 % bonus is referring to a 10% contribution you would get from using the Upromise credit card.

Bank of America offers TWO different Upromise cards; one you get an extra 10% contributions on eligible grocery purvhases, and the other you get an extra 10% contributions from Upromise participating restaurants.

The original 4% you are referring to would be listed under "Rewards Network" in your contributing companies page of your account.  The extra 10% you would get from the Upromise card will be listed with Bank Of America (Upromise credit card) within your Upromise account.

And to answer your question, the 10% extra (and the original 4%-8% from Rewards Network as well) DOES INCLUDE the tax and tip!  It is on the TOTAL BILL that you earn your rewards!

Hope that helps clarify things for you...
