This year my family and I took the Thanksgiving holiday and time off from work to go visit my mom in Toronto.  Canada might celebrate Thanksgiving in October, but we still got the warm reception. However, the only downside (or upside, depending on your view) was missing all the hoopla that is Black Friday.  No waiting in line freezing my behind off at 3am, no pushing through aisles to find that one item of limited quantity which you desperately need. While I enjoy the hunt that is a great sale, I also can appreciate the following week of still good deals and calmer mall or pajama at-home experiences.
